SAFEWAY CHAMPIONSHIP SWEEP TO WIN CONTEST
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
CONTEST SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF THE CANADA. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. CONTEST:
The Safeway Championship Sweep to Win contest (the “Contest”) starts February 1, 2010 at 12:00:00 a.m. Central Standard Time (CST) and ends February 14, 2010 at 11:59:59 p.m. CST (the "Contest Period").
2. ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible to enter, you must go to www.safewaychampionship.ca and fill out the online entry form with complete name (first name/last name), telephone number and e-mail address so it will enable the Sponsor to contact you in the event your entry is selected in the Contest. TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN, YOU MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF CANADA RESIDING IN ONE OF THE 12 CANADIAN PROVINCES THROUGHOUT THE CONTEST PERIOD. Potential winners may be required to provide proof of Canadian citizenship if requested by the Sponsor to determine eligibility and as a condition of prize award. If a potential winner is a minor under eighteen (18) years of age, prize will be awarded to such minor's parent or legal guardian who will be required to sign all prize acceptance documents and assume all responsibilities of prize winner.
3. HOW TO ENTER:
No Purchase Necessary, and no entry fee, no payment or proof-of-purchase necessary to participate in the Contest. To enter the Contest, enter your first name, last name, e-mail address, phone number, age range and answer the survey questions in the entry box on entry page of the Web Site and click where indicated to submit entry.
Limit five entries per email address per each day of the daily prize of the Safeway Championship Sweep to Win contest period.
For purposes of these rules, a day is defined as 12:00:00 a.m. CST through 11:59:59 p.m. CST. The computer clock of Sponsor’s webmaster is the official timekeeping device of the Contest.
The name of the person submitting the email address upon Contest entry must be the name of the person who registered on the Web Site with such email address, and the authorized account holder of such email address, otherwise, entry may be deemed void. In the event of dispute over the identity of a potential winner, an Online entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry, and potential winner may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that he/she is the authorized account holder of such email address. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his or her e-mail address during the Contest Period. Canada Safeway Limited is not responsible for an electronic, network, computer malfunction, or any other technical error of any kind.
Proof of emailing does not constitute proof of delivery or entry. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned to entrant. Each entry submission must be manually key stroked and manually entered by the individual entrant; automated and/or repetitive electronic submission of entries (including but not limited to entries made using any script, macro, or Contest service) will be disqualified and transmissions from these or related email or IP addresses may be blocked.
An electronic random draw will be made daily from all entries and all winning entries will be reentered for the subsequent daily draws made during February 10-14, 2010.
4. PRIZES:
Five daily prizes of the Safeway Championship Sweep to Win will be rewarded. The daily prize includes a $100 Safeway gift card and an Asham curling broom signed by all members of the Team Kerry Burtnyk and Team Jennifer Jones will be rewarded – one prize package awarded daily from February 10 – 14, 2010 (estimated prize value for daily prize is $250.00). Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash.
Every eligible winner will receive his / her prize within eight (8) weeks after verification.
5. CONDUCT:
By entering this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges that shall be final and binding in all respects. These Official Rules are accessible from the Web Site throughout the Contest Period. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification.
Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual suspected of tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or the Web Site; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of the Official Rules; or to be acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike or disruptive, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A USER OR ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMIATION, ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
6. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the Web Site or any combination thereof, or; (e) any injury or damage to participant’s or to any other person's computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest or download any materials in the Contest. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned for reasons which may include without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, then Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest in whole or in part.
7. WINNER NOTIFICATION:
The website administrator will randomly draw a daily prize winner from the Contest entries. One name will be drawn randomly on a daily basis for the daily prize of the Safeway Championship Sweep to Win beginning February 10, 2010 inclusive to February 14, 2010. The name of the winner of a daily prize will be reentered for all other daily prize draws in the Contest period.
Potential winner will be notified by phone or e-mail on file with Sponsor. The Sponsor will have seven (7) days to contact the winner. Any winner notification returned as undeliverable without a forwarding address will result in prize forfeiture and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s discretion. Potential winner will be required to sign and return to Sponsor an Affidavit of Eligibility/ Liability Release with (where lawful) a publicity release for receipt by Sponsor by the due date indicated in the notification letter (which may be within seven (7) days or less of notification).
If any required documents are not returned within the required number of days, or if any mail is returned as undeliverable without forwarding address, then prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at Sponsor’s discretion.
The name of the winner will also be published on www.safewaychampionship.ca contest page.
8. WINNER RELEASES:
All entrants, as a condition of entry into the Contest, agree to release Canada Safeway Limited, Manitoba Curling Association and 2010 Safeway Championship Steinbach Host Committee and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, distributors, suppliers, printers, distributors and advertising, promotional or judging agencies, from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with: accessing the Web Site or Contest page; submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Contest; the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or; any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of any prize.
The winner shall bear all risk of loss or damage to their prize after it has been delivered. Sponsor makes no representations or warranties of any kind concerning the appearance, safety or performance of any prize. Winners grant to the Sponsor the right to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide in any media now known or hereinafter known (including without limitation use Online at the Web Site) the winner’s name, address, voice, statement, picture or other likeness, without additional compensation, for public relations, advertising and promotional purposes as may be determined by the Sponsor.

General
Canada Safeway Limited may collect personal information about you (such as your name, telephone number and e-mail address) that you provide voluntarily. You ordinarily are not required to register or provide personal information in order to access our websites, although certain websites and sections of our websites may require registration.
The Company offers games, contests and other promotional activities that may require Online registration. Persons wishing to participate in those activities are asked to provide certain personal information. Some of the information requested for this purpose is optional, but other information, such as e-mail address, is mandatory because it will be needed to send the promised coupon rebates from a particular Online contest as well as notify and identify winners.
